Are you like me finding a trip to the grocery store hard to do with our busy daily schedule? Great, I am about to introduce you to a new way to shop in the comfort of your home:
This is how it all started: Amazon Fresh Food Delivery
Amazon is spreading its wings! Last August 2017 they acquired Whole Foods Market, often referred to as Whole Paycheck Store, for $13.7 Billion! Now you can say Good Bye “Whole Paycheck,” Hello “Amazon.”
Why is that? It is a known fact that Whole Foods Market prices were WAY too EXPENSIVE! As soon as Amazon closed on the deal last August, they slashed their prices up to 43% on some of your popular products! To find out more watch that video below.
My daughter-in-law asked me this interesting question the other day, and I am sure that she is not the only one with that question: “Will I be able to buy Whole Foods grocery item on Amazon”?
Here is the answer: Whole Foods now sells Amazon Echos in grocery stores and, Amazon is currently selling online whole foods market groceries.
Introducing Amazon Fresh Food Delivery!
What is that? Amazon created a new subsidiary call AmazonFresh. They offer grocery delivery and pick up service exclusive for their Prime Members in select cities. As of August 2017, AmazonFresh is available in Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Stamford, Trenton, Boston, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Denver, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Jose, and Stockton. AmazonFresh is also available outside the U.S., in Berlin, Tokyo, and London.
You can sign up for a Prime Member 30 days Free trial offer by also clicking on the below image.
To find out if it is available in your area yet, click on the picture below, look at the top right corner under the green line where it says “browsing” then click on the dropbox and enter your zip code.
Prime Members can add this service for an additional $14.99 a month on top of their $99.00 yearly membership.
How Does Amazon Fresh Work?
After you sign up and you are ready to order, first, you will need to pick up a delivery day, time, and method (Attended Delivery, Doorstep Delivery, Pick Up). If you order before noon, you can get the same-day delivery between 4:00-6:00 PM
Three Delivery Options Available to you:
Attended Delivery:
Attended delivery is when you will be home to accept the delivery. This option is available only in the cities where AmazonFresh is available. You pick up a time that you will be home to receive your order, and they will deliver to you in paper bags instead of temperature-controlled totes.
Doorstep Delivery:
Doorstep delivery is when you are not home to accept the delivery. This option is available only in the cities where AmazonFresh is available. You pick up a 2-3 hours time slot that works best for your schedule. They will leave your items on your doorstep in temperature-controlled totes.
The packaging is designed to maintain the correct temperature of your products, but they encourage you to retrieve your order as soon as possible.
Pickup:
The Pickup Option is available to Prime Members only in the cities where AmazonFresh is available at no extra charge, and there is no minimum order requirement. You will have to choose a pickup location near you then reserve a time slot. You will pick up your order as soon as 15 minutes after you placed the order! How cool is that?
OK, What is next? You will start shopping by clicking on each category to add food to your cart. You will see your total on the right, then you pay, and your order is on its way depending on the date, time, and delivery method you chose.
If you chose the pickup method, they would deliver your online order to your trunk. There is no minimum order, and it will be ready 15 minutes after you[laced your order. This service is Free exclusively for Prime Members.
That’s very cool, right? Ok, You don’t want to pick it up? No problem, Amazon Fresh have you covered! They will deliver to your door (Attended Delivery, Doorstep Delivery)
My Recommendation To You:
Before getting started with Amazon Fresh, I highly recommend that you try it first to find out if it works for you. You have nothing to lose with their 30 days trial! 🙂 Remember all orders over $40.00 are free delivery otherwise, you will be charged $9.99, so it is worth ordering at least for $40.00.
Look Out Canadian! Guess who’s coming to town?
With stores in Ottawa and Victoria and previously planned sites in Calgary and Edmonton, the potential exists for a coast-to-coast service. – Canadian Grocer (1)

Introducing The Amazon Meal Kit
The retail giant filed a trademark for the phrase, “We do the prep. You be the chef.” (2)
You can order a meal kit delivered to your doorsteps! All you have to do is to follow the instruction to cook your fresh meal. How cool is that? On top of this, what differentiates them from other companies is that AmazonFresh does not require a subscription! Amazon lets you buy as you go, but you need to be a member of Amazon Prime and AmazonFresh. With the two big rivals, Blue Apron and Hello Fresh, you must commit to ordering 2 to 4 meals every week. You also have a preset delivery day in your area which does not apply with Amazon.

This is exactly what I expected when Whole Foods and Amazon got together. It’s official, I will NEVER leave home again. Thanks for the breakdown ! 🙂
Hey Rico, thanks for your comment! Before doing so, make sure they service your area. I don’t want you to starve! 😉
This is such a useful service to know about. I will be sure to tell my friends and family about it. Thank you so much!
Hi Alex and thanks for your comment! It is a very good service for busy people or people that hates going to groceries.
I love the sound of this but wish we had it in Australia for that value.
Great information breakdown!
Hi Dorothy! Thanks for your comment. Maybe you will be able to get it in Australia in the near future :-). Come back here and let us know when that happen!
Looks good but is it delivered on time and still fresh? I used to work at Schwanns and that delivered but it was frozen. Nevertheless I like the idea and shipping is so fast now I would probably go for it.
Hi David, Yes it is fresh and on time. If you chose attended delivery, you would give the time that you will be home to receive your order. If you prefer doorstep delivery, they will leave your items on your doorstep in temperature-controlled totes so it can stay fresh. Hope that answered your question 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
That is pretty cool and convenient. I worry that Amazon is getting so big that they will become a monopoly though.
Hi Melinda, I have to agree with you on that. It is covenient but is Amazon trying to monopolyse? Time will tell, meanwhile we can enjoy shopping in a different way! 🙂 Thanks for your comment!
What exciting news! This seems like such an affordable, and convenient alternative to making the trip to Whole Foods. Thanks, Carole!
Hello Meg, it is a very exciting news! The fact that Amazon dropped the prices with Whole Foods Market is even more exciting! No more “Whole Paycheck” grocery as they nickname Whole Foods” Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Oh WOW!! This is neat.
With the acquisition of WholeFoods, Amazon has indeed taken its name to another level. I can see where this will be helpful for many people – busy workers (home and office), sick people, shut-ins, this is indeed a great idea in action.
I did not know about this service and even though I might not use the service, I still applaud Amazon for the initiative.
Thanks so much for sharing, Carole.

Hi Michelle, thanks for your comment! Yes, indeed, it is neat, and it makes Whole Foods more affordable to people! AmazonFresh system is more convenient than their rivals which I did try several of them but their subscription and then the specific delivery day was not good for me.
Hello and thanks for sharing this valuable information, I am sure that your readers will love to know how amazon has spread their wings to help them.
Hello Norman and thanks for your comment! Yes Amazon is really spreading their wings. Whole Foods is now really affordable! 🙂
